If you have opted for the optional airport transfer, we will pick you up from Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer you to your Hotel in Moshi
Pre trek briefing at your Moshi hotel. You should be planning to arrive atleast one day before the start of the trek. Today we will spend in having a pre- trek briefing we will also review your equipment and rent any equipment which is needed.
Day 1: Moshi to Marangu gate
After breakfast, at 9 am meet the climb team and transfer to Marangu gate reaching an elevation of 1800m/5400ft. after permit formalities, transfer to Rongai trail head 2 hours. Meet your guide and porters before you begin your hike from the Nale Moru village.
The small winding path crosses maize fields before entering pine forest and the climbs gently through a forest the trail is not all steep, but is rather a gentle hike through beautiful country
- The first nights camp is at first cave.

Day 2: First cave to second cave Kikelwa cave
Trail continues up towards kibo, passing second cave (3450m) enroute and reaching Kikelwa cave at about 3600m/10800ft. the view start to open and you begin to feel you’re on a really big mountain. Water is in the obvious steam below the care, although your might have to wander downhill a way to find some

Day 3: Kikelwa Caves to Mawenzi
A short but steep climb up grassy slopes offers superb views of this wildness area. The vegetation zone and shortly before your reach your next camp at mawenzi tarn spectacular situated beneath the towering spires of mawenzi spend the afternoon acclimatizing and exploring the area

Day 4: Mawenzi to Kibo
Continue ascending on the east side of Kibo crossing the saddle between mawenzi
The remainder of the day is spent resting in preparation for the final ascent, which begins around midnight (2am)

Day 5: Kibo to Hans Meyer cave to Gillmans point to Uhuru peak to Horombo hut.
You will rise around 23h30 and after some tea and biscuits you shuffle off into the night. This is where the going rally gets tough. The first section of the trail consists of a rocky path to the hans meyer cave(5150m)15450ft) also a good resting spot
The path then zigzag up to gillmans point (5681m/17043ft)which is located on the crater rim. This section is very steep with a lot of stone screen, requiring a great physical and mental effort. This is probably the most demanding section of the entire route do the kill shuffle and more slowly normally encounter snow all the way up to uhuru peak 5895m/19685ft the highest point in Africa. Total exhalation and satisfaction- you made it weather conditions on the summit will determine how long you can spend, taking photographs before the 3 hours descent back to kibo hut.
After a short rest you gather all your gear for the ascent and head down to Horombo hut (3hours ) where you will overnight. The return to Horombo hut will seem surprisingly fast compared to the ascent.
Later in the evening you enjoy your last dinner on the mountain and well-earned sleep, filled with memories and stiring emotion.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu
After breakfast at 7 am with lunch boxes take a walk down to Marangu Gate
Herbivore African Expeditions will be waiting for you at Marangu gate, to drive you back to your Hotel in Moshi OR Arusha.
Day 7: Arusha to Tarangire
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, enjoy full day game drive with picnic lunch.
The park consists of natural vegetation mainly of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa.
This African National Park is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. Dinner and overnight at Marera Valley Lodge Karatu.

Day 8: Karatu to Serengeti national park
Depart with your picnic lunch boxes for Serengeti National Park. Making a game driving on the Serengeti plains, searching for the migration, the largest concentration of plains game (wildebeest, zebra and gazelle) to be found anywhere in the world. Also the predators (lion and cheetah) and the scavengers (hyena and jackals) together with elephant, buffalo, giraffe, warthog and many other species of both big and small game. Enjoy your game drive with your private jeep till late evening. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp.

Day 9: Serengeti National park
This morning’s African adventure begins with an exploratory game drive through Tanzania’s oldest and most recognized National Park, the Serengeti. This location offers the most expansive game viewing in Tanzania. From predators to prey, great herds of grazing herbivores to tactically cunning packs of carnivores, life on the plains of the Serengeti can best be defined as a complete “circle of life.”
Spend today searching out Impala, one of Africa’s most beautiful and graceful animals. Previously thought to be part of the gazelle tribe, Impalas have been found to be so different that they are now classified as their own sub-family status. Leopards, cheetah, lions and wild dogs prey on impala. Impala can reach running speeds of approximately 50 to 55 mph (80 to 90 km/h) to escape its predators.

Day 10: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
You are provided with a personalized, experienced tracker-guide and private transportation today whilst exploring around the Ngorongoro National Park grounds.
Explore one of the most recognized wildlife conservation areas in Tanzania today. Depart your camp or lodge in a privately driven vehicle, along with a local expert guide, for approximately a 20 to 30-minute drive towards the Ngorongoro Park Gate. It will then take you another 20 minutes to reach the crater rim itself. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. This geological masterpiece was formed as a result of an extremely large volcanic explosion which caused the volcano to collapse in on itself, thus creating a crater. The crater floor also boasts one of the highest carnivore densities in the world including large prides of lions, packs of hyenas and solitary predators like cheetahs and jackals.
